Hidden Histories is my quest to document and explore the little-known events of San Francisco's past. Being my final design project during senior year of college, I wanted to make it as grand as possible. Made up of over 130 stories and 300 photographs, Hidden Histories is a way to blend my three greatest passions - design, history and photography. I utilized the art of re-photography to compare and contrast the changes San Francisco has gone through over time. Each event included in my project features an old vintage photograph, compared to a modern photograph that I took myself. By placing these photographs side by side, it gives viewers an opportunity to truly place themselves in the time or place of the story. Hidden Histories is also designed to be ready to use on the go. If someone were to explore the streets of San Francisco, the website accompanied with my project would be ready to pull up at any given moment, and to allow the viewer to see if any historic events happened where they are standing.
